Greeted with what was widely accepted as being the coldest game of the season, our coaches took the opportunity to warm the under 6 and under 8 minis up with a game of cat and mouse. If we’re to be completely honest, it was a chance to get everyone’s temperature to move in the right direction, coaches included! Gloves, thermal shirts and really anything to help keep the players warm were a feature given the low early morning temperatures.

When the game got underway, it was clear both sides were ready to give it their best and some exciting passages of end to end play were on display. The teams were evenly matched and the level of skill development from TVFC and NYUSC was easy to see.

Kade opened the scoring with a goal. Grace, playing her best game for the season was enjoying lots of possession, with dribbling a highlight of her play. Buckley was also enjoying a prominent position in many passages of play which was great to see. Well done Buck’s! Several more goals were exchanged and by half time both sides were ready for a well-earned break.

In the second half, TVFC continued where they left off at the half. Lillian is a rock in defence every week and Johns all round play continues to impress. He ended the day with a hattrick of goals. Piper, Xavier, James and our youngest recruit Mason all contributed to what was a terrific match by our under 6 squad.

The B.K’s award went to Grace for an excellent game. James was awarded the Jump and Climb voucher for a solid contribution. Well done to the TVFC U6’s on another great game. Thanks to @BK’S Takeaway and @Jump&Climb for their generous support of our juniors.
