The TVFC women’s team fought hard on Sunday to win their elimination final against East Gippsland (EGUFC) 1-0. Amanda Hines scored the winning goal with a chip over the EGUFC keeper’s head. Whilst TVFC keeper, Caitlin Mathews, made some amazing saves to deny EGUFC an equalizing goal. Coach Tony Wyatt was delighted that Caitlin’s dedication and training paid off when it really matter on game day.
The girls really appreciated those TVFC supporters who came and offered their support on the weekend. The women’s team will now play Fortuna in the preliminary final. During the season the TVFC ladies have narrowly lost to Fortuna and more recently drew. So it promises to be an excellent and entertaining match.
The game will be on Sunday the 16th of Sept at 10am at the Latrobe City Sports Stadium, Crinigan Road, Morwell. All TVFC members are encouraged to come and cheer the girls to a win over Fortuna.
