It was another bright sunny day for our second game of the season held at Sale. TVFC got off to a flying start with Kaiden and Cohen kicking some nice goals. Tyler had some chances at goal in the first half, narrowly missing 2 of them before heading into the backline to help Rylee out who was playing in goals. Liam and Harvey were attacking the ball exceptionally well and Anton was strong in both offense and defense. Our newest recruit Stella, provided lots of help in the midfield throughout the first half.
After sharing some oranges at half time and getting lots of encouragement from our parents/grandparents that made the trip to Sale, we headed back onto the pitch for the second half which was more of the same, lots of attacking and some good passing by everyone. Cohen and Anton dropped back in defense to help Kaiden out in goals which gave our other players the opportunity to score. Rylee came out of goals in the second half and attacked the ball really well along with Harvey, Stella, Liam and Tyler. With only 1 goal conceded for the game and plenty of goals scored we had a lot of happy kids walking off the pitch.
Awards this week went to Harvey for taking direction and playing hard at the ball and Tyler for some great defensive steals and improvement in dribbling and passing the ball. After coaching the U8’s last year, it was wonderful to see the improvement in the players that were in my team last year and also to see the amazing talent we have picked up this year. Everyone played really hard and did their absolute best so it was very hard to pick the awards. Keep up the great work!
I would also like to thank the players and families that made the trip to Sale. It’s very important to support all clubs in the competition as they support us.
