The weather was not so bright for our Round 5 Fixture at our home ground against Sale. The overcast and chilly conditions did not dampen the TVFC under 8s spirit and they were keen to get started. We again had good numbers and it was decided that we would play 8 v 8 to give everybody a good run.
Unlike the weather we had a bright start and it was a very even contest. Felicity was kept very busy in goals with several good saves, there was nothing she could do about the first goal with a good strike getting the visitors on the score board. Anton and Arlo started at the back again and were kept very busy as most of the play in the first period was played in the TVFC half.
It was great to see such an even contest and TVFC were doing lots of running and were rewarded with a couple of goals from Cohen to finish off the half. Refreshed with some half time oranges TVFC were still full of running, with Harvey and Rylee working hard. Stella, Tyler, Quinn, Onyx and Jack were playing well, and goals were hard to come by with some good defensive work from both sides.
The rain started, and Sale went ahead 4-3 with 5 minutes to go, TVFC worked very hard to try and get another goal and had some near misses but they ran out of time and Sale finished the game winning 4-3, TVFC were gracious in defeat and took consolation in the after-game jelly snakes. Arlo and Jack were awarded the game day awards for their enthusiasm and effort.
