The under 10’s played against Newborough/Yallourn at their ground. After weeks of focusing on positioning and with great progress being made the focus moved to other elements of the game such as always thinking about how we use the ball and getting out head up and looking for a teammate in a better position.
Things went to plan from the beginning as Traf scored some well worked team goals with Jett (retuning only 3 weeks after breaking his wrist), Mitch, Jaxon and Ryan linking well in attack. Sully while quiet in goal looked comfortable with his hands when needed and importantly used the ball well with his feet when called upon. Traf went into the break having scored a few goal in the first half.
The second half was similar to the first with plenty of passing and plenty of consideration around how the team used the ball. Mackenzie went forward and scored a couple of well taken goals and Sully managed to put a few away after coming out of goal.
Jye, Jai and Eli ensured Newborough’s attacks didn’t progress with some good tackling and good use of their body. Ryan O playing his first game began his “football career” in style showing great promise for what lies ahead.
Traf ran out comfortable winners in what was their best display of passing football all season and the improvement in adjusting to the under 10 format since their first game in round 1 has been considerable.Well played guys.
Award winners this week were, Ryan O, Jett and Sully.
