Our last round for the season was the gala day at Falcons were all of our Miniroos teams had the opportunity to play two games instead of one. The U6 & U8 teams played 2 x 15 minute halves for both of their games and the U10s played 2 x 20 minutes halves for theirs. It was fair to say that after playing two games and receiving two lots of fruit and lollies the kids where very happy and possibly tired by the end of their games although they didn’t seem to show it. The morning started off very foggy so the U6 & U8s were playing in some pretty tough conditions. The sun finally came out towards the end of the U6s & U8s second game so the U10s where fortunate enough to play in the sunshine.
Melbourne Victory members were at the ground having a kick with the kids and where handing out Victory packs to all the kids which they received with much enthusiasm. The kids really enjoyed themselves and displayed their passion for soccer.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that came and supported the Miniroos in season 2018 from the volunteers, the GFC kids who refereed throughout the season, the committee members who helped out on our home games, the parents, grandparents and other family members and anyone else that came to the games and supported the kids. Without your help we would not have the ability to run this program so thank you so much for your support. Most importantly I would like to thank the Miniroos coaches who tirelessly give up their time to train, coach and mentor our kids. We have a great bunch of coaches this year and I can only hope that they will be back next year to give up their time to coach again.
I would also like to thank the players for playing with such great spirit and sportsmanship throughout the season. I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to coach all three teams at one point or another during the season and the level of improvement I have seen in all of our Miniroos teams has been fantastic to see and is very exciting for our future. TVFC is a great club and it is made even better by the attitudes and support of our TVFC families. I hope to see you all back at TVFC next year to continue playing football with us and to make our club even better.
Just a reminder that our presentation day is next Saturday 1st September at 10am at the clubrooms. Please bring a plate to share and your training gear to play a game with the kids.
