For Round 11 we were visited by Falcons who were just behind us on the ladder but as it turned out they are a long way behind us!

We quickly established our now regular dominance of the play but squandered some early beautifully set up opportunities to score.  The one consolation was that Falcons never looked like threatening to score thanks to our rock solid defence and constant attacking pressure.

Finally after 40 frustrating minutes Cristiin back heeled Bridget’s shot into the net and the drought was broken.  We did our best to keep Falcons in the game by regularly passing to them but they were devoting their efforts to abusing each other.  This is a regular occurrence with opposition teams and I’m proud that our team is never less than fully supportive of each other and it shows with the way we play each week.

The dominance continued after the break although so did the errors so it took another 25 minutes to score again this time through Molly who was relishing playing in some midfield space and burst through the defence with only the ‘keeper to beat.

The 2-0 win was our 10th win from 13 games this season which sees us in a clear 4th place at the half way point of the season only 1 point off 3rd.  It is up to us to better that record in the second half – the challenge is there!

‘Shrek’ Keilty is still recovering from spending 10 minutes on the bench – just a reminder that no prima donnas are tolerated in defence!

Go Traf!
