We traveled to Moe for Round 5 against a team that has struggled to field a team regularly so far this season so we were up against the unexpected!
Despite not being sure of our opposition we were into attack from the kick off and stayed that way for the vast majority of the game. We were hesitant for the first 20 minutes or so lacking fluency clearly after eating chocolate rather than playing soccer the week before.
However we worked into some impressive passing and effective use of space that was highlighted by participation of the whole team rather than just the usual starring roles. The forwards shone led by Micky Cann who finished the game with 2 goals. Hinesy, Tumi and Ang chipped in with singles and the great defender Emily blasted a penalty home with style and histrionics.
The 6-0 win was just what we needed before a number of more difficult games coming up. Some players are working their way into form impressively after a season start of injuries; if we can keep some consistency in availability we will strike fear into our opponents coming up.
Congratulations to Shirley on her first game back from a serious knee injury.
