The great run of beautiful Saturday morning weather continued when Trafalgar 1 Under 10’s traveled to Moe to play Moe United on a glorious Autumn morning. Trafalgar got on the scoreboard nice and early with a goal by Braeden after some great passing by his teammates. Zane then displayed some impressive skills by scoring a goal after dribbling past 2 Moe defenders.

Whilst the Trafalgar forward line and midfield were combining well, with many attacks on goal, it was the Trafalgar defenders who were really shining. Logan, Ollie and Mitchell were almost impossible to get past in defence. They consistently delivered the ball back to their midfielders with some smart passing down the sidelines. On the rare occasions that Moe made it through the Trafalgar defence, the ever reliable goalkeeper Yelan was there to prevent Moe from scoring.

At half time both sides took some time out for a well deserved rest. During the break, Trafalgar 1 coach Shirley provided her team with more of her usual thoughtful advice and great encouragement. The kids were then keen to get the second half underway.

The second half saw some great attacking play from Ava and Mackenzie. Both girls were impressive with their skills and running speed and almost scored on several occasions. James and Harry ran hard all day and their unselfish play and great long passing setup many opportunities for their teammates. Trafalgar put the result beyond doubt with 3 more goals in the second half.

Despite the one sided score line, Moe kept trying hard all game and both sides should be commended for their outstanding efforts and great attitudes.

Best team player awards could have gone to any of the Trafalgar players, but this weeks deserving winners were James and Braeden.

Trafalgar 1 will be hoping for the return of Paddy and Bailey next week and the great team spirit they add to the group.
