In its 20th year as a club, Trafalgar Victory FC has been advised that its application to return to the GSL – Central Division for season 2015 has been approved by the GSL Board.
This means that in season 2015 TVFC will field teams in MiniRoos, Juniors and Seniors (both men and women) in the GSL – Central Division.
TVFC has played junior aged teams in the central division since its commencement in 1996 and senior aged teams for most of this period of time. However, having competed in the GSL – South Division for the past two seasons, the club is now set to field a full complement of senior aged teams in the central division.
TVFC was one of the inaugural club’s to form the GSL Women’s competition. It has also entered Men’s Reserves and 2nd Division teams in the past. So it has some considerable history in the GSL – Central Division. However, this recent announcement paves the way for TVFC to enter a Senior Men’s team for the first time in the club’s relatively short history.
This historic announcement was well received at this week’s “Meet the Coach” evening. Players, coaches and club officials are delighted with the decision and all are looking forward to competing in Gippsland’s premier level of competition.
All at the club are fully aware of the “step up” required to compete at the senior level of competition. However, based upon the enthusiasm and energy around the club, it is clear that the time has come to do so.
