Trafalgar Victory FC have successfully applied for a Community Grant from Energy Australia for $1,000 and a Community Support Application from AGL for $500.00. Both funding schemes will contribute towards new heating/cooling units for the club rooms.
The Energy Australia Community Grant was secured by TVFC committee member, and MiniRoos Coordinator, Tanya Makins via her connections at Yallourn As TVFC fall within their boundary for sponsorship, Energy Australia they were more than happy to support the club.
The AGL Community Support Application was made by both Tanya, and fellow committee member and Under 6 MiniRoos Coach Michael Byrne. AGL offer employees the opportunity to apply for Community support for their sporting clubs and other social organisations, and as both Tanya and Michael work at AGL, they generously donated $500 to go towards the cost of the heating.
Michael has organised quotes for the purchase and installation of two wall mounted heating/cooling units at the TVFC club rooms. He has also submitted a further funding application with the Latrobe Valley Authority (LVA), following a recommendation from LVA Grant Coordinator, Carla Bruce.
Michael and Tanya’s work on this project is greatly appreciated by all at the club. This is an excellent example of how any TVFC member can apply for funding via workplace sponsorship/grant programs. If your workplace offers any funding opportunities to its employees and/or local community groups be sure to inquire on behalf of Trafalgar Victory FC.
TVFC will advise its members of the outcome of the LVA funding application when it is made available.
