Another cold but sunny day welcomed Trafalgar for the trip to Traralgon, after 8.30am, car spaces were hard to find but after a few weeks off the under 8s were bright and early and had a enthusiastic warm up. Liam, Rylee and Anton were back in the team and after the first 5 minutes of the game it looked like it was going to be a fairly even contest, unfortunately this was not the case, in the first half. Even though TVFC were trying hard they were a bit rusty after the few weeks off. Felicity was again in goals and even though we were 5-0 down at half time, she was doing a good job and it could have been more as she made some great saves. Anton, Stella, Jack and Arlo were working hard in defence, with Tyler, Harvey , Liam and Rylee doing lots of running in the middle.
We regrouped for the second half and played much better. Cohen made the scoreboard a bit more respectable with a couple of goals and it could have bee closer if not for some good saves from the opposing goalkeeper. Trafalgar kept going until the end and the main difference between the teams was the tall Traralgon striker who was faster and stronger. I was very pleased with the team as their heads did not go down after being 5 goals down at half time, the final score was 6-2 to Traralgon, a great second half from Trafalgar who again showed good sportsmanship in defeat.
Good luck for Saturday’s game as I am on holiday enjoy the break over School holidays.
