There was a thick covering of Fog for the trip down to Morwell on Saturday morning for the next round for the Trafalgar Victory Miniroos Under 8’s season. My Rookie Coach status was confirmed with not having a ball to warm up with, this did not deter a very enthusiastic under 8’s squad, who warmed up happily with out a ball until Adrien saved the day with a ball. By kick off time is was bright and clear if not a bit chilly, Felicity was again playing in goal and made a wise choice to keep her jacket on as she was not seeing much action, Trafalgar had the majority of possession in the first half attacking the Traralgon goals. With no Anton in defense this week, Stella, Jack and Quinn did a great job on the few occasions the ball found its way towards the Trafalgar goals. Even though we had most of the possession and were playing some good football it took some time for us to get on the scoreboard through a well worked goal finished by the prolific scorer Cohen. Arlo, Harvey and Rylee were controlling the midfield with Tyler popping up everywhere in attack, midfield and defence. Onyx was playing up front supporting Cohen.

We went into half time with three goals and none conceded, however, there was some concern shown from the team with a Roster Mix up and no half time oranges, this was short lived when the jelly snakes were brought in as a late substitute. The second half started with Felicity back in goals removing her jacket as the sun came out, I thought she may have been expecting to see more of the ball but I think it was restricting her movement as the number of handstands and flips increased dramatically once said garment was removed. Trafalgar again dominated the game with great defense, tireless running and some great passing. Rotating the players was the biggest challenge of the day as everybody wanted to be on the pitch. Final score being 7-0. With great performances from everyone today, all deserved the awards but they went to Quinn and Jack for their great defensive work and to cap off a great morning, the oranges turned up for the end of the game refreshments, win, win.
