After the School Holidays the Under 8s enthusiasm was not dampened by the cold and miserable weather on Saturday morning, both teams were looking forward to facing new opposition for the year. The first half was the most even game we have played all year, there was nothing between the two teams, there was some tough tackling from both sides but is was a fair contest. The rain started, and it was heading for a 0-0 half time score, Anton, Jack and Arlo were looking after defensive duties with Felicity in goals. Tyers broke and manage to scramble in a goal with some desperate defending from Trafalgar. We managed to equalize immediately from the restart and the teams went into the half time break at a very even 1-1.
A short half time, just enough time for some oranges. The second half started with the same intensity as the first, Tyler, Harvey and Rylee were seeing a lot of the ball in Midfield with Cohen and Onyx up front looking for goals. With the teams evenly matched, Tyers started to score some goals, Trafalgar had more chances but could not finish in front of goal. Both teams put in a great effort and it was a very entertaining game, Trafalgar had a strong finish but could not make up the goal difference, final score Tyers 6 Trafalgar 4.
